Cultural conventions?
Earth energy
Fit into
Tiny, neat boxes
And used to
Explain away
Limitations.
It’s so comforting
To nestle
Into cycles,
Making sense of
This,
Softening anxiety towards
that:
It will return,
“I shall return.”
Waiting for
this,
Making sense of
that:
Neat.
Limitation is neat.
We are taught
To
Simplify.
So poised
To
Checkout,
Rest a while.
Then rest
Becomes complacency
For me,
A longing for
A comfortable
Human experience,
Even commanding
The blind,
With its lure
And longing,
Disguised as
So much success.
What of Allowing
Even cycle?
Answer:
Below the surface
Are no dead roots;
Even deaths wardrobe,
Behold how beautiful.
